what i mean by upload is this, i went to those two sites online you recommended, i uploaded the pdf file to it.  i am not understanding if what you mean-those two sites would change pdf to jpg?  it wouldn't read the pdf.

now, getting away from the sites, they have the windows picture/fax viewer, then there is microsoft picture it.

now......for the real kicker......when i took the publisher course @ library and started working with it there.....there was NO EXTENSION TO TURN IT TO JPG AND BYPASS PDF EXTENSION on any of the computers, i've had technical support involved with this, i kid you not! it was not available.....i got someone else who hasn't been involved yet, she said the new version does (it's still publisher 2007) and suddenly it's there???  this happened while you were not feeling well.....

so, what does it meanam the update from microsoft???

cause now im thinking, next time you say it's in the software, i should run updates and not wait for them to do so???
could it be they didn't update?

Very easy.. Go to site. Click start i think it is. It will open a program over the net.. and do it just as you would with a image program silly.. As i said. Click add file. Then file >> save as >> jpg

etc....

the first one only allows images, i clicked the dropdown button to show that.  i was understa nding this to accept a pub file and change it to jpg?

2nd one seems to not working right now, i would upload the same file and then got internal error message.

sorry bout that for not writing it and explaining that.

Ok yeah i just looked and i guess they dont do psd's anymore on the one. Sorry bout that.

Yeah anyways why ? Cause you cant get a program to open them and convert on the library one ?? There are some you could even install on the library one including ifranview.

Plus just hun post it here and someone will convert it and be faster for you when they can. No big deal. We all do crap when ever for whatever.

when i started this topic, ifran wouls only read a pub file with the dowload of ghostscript, which it instructs you to do along with another set of downloads, recently they took fran off the computer , now i found a popup box about a week ago, asking if you want certain things on the computer, for the first time i saw the question re: ghostscript pics in various places!  i thought, shit, it did do what they said.....they removed ifran because in various sections they found inappropriate/scary images, thats why  asked, is this program known to be a problem?

then i get someone who never helped before with publisher (with me i mean) i showed her the white it put on an image, top or bottom and what process i go through to chang size and extension, she said the new version (????) of publisher 7 now turns it into a jpg, then open it up in picture it, edit and use their resize till u get to within your width and save.

what she means by new, i have no idea.....(updated maybe)??? because what they had DID NOT OFFER JPG

and who knows what they'll change next, if i have to rely on here to change it over, it's because they could decide to take a program off.  makes me wonder if i need to open up these programs they have and update them before i use them.

*sighs*

yes, that pic was already converted, thanks.

when u say programs downloaded on a virtual machine, are you referring to, as in my case, library or do you mean the programs off the net, such as ifran, splashup, etc??

i'm marking this solved as there is not much more that can be done with this.

No .. there are virtual machines you can use that are over the net. Online. Just need one and an account and set up a whole system to your likings.. Wink Then work in it over the net where ever you are.

Let me know if you want the info...
