My new Project

Thought that maybe some of you would be interested in the new site i've made. It's more to build up my portfolio than anything else, but I thought I may as well give something away for free to people while i'm doing it, so i'm making wordpress themes and giving them away free.

So far it's got little on it, but i'm planning to make loads more layouts for it. Need to get a specific design up as a default one too...i'm sure i'll make that soon.

ps for those of you who don't know, my other sites are http://www.freedivs.com/ http://www.yourfilmreview.com/ (it's bollocks, I wouldn't even say it's worth a look) and http://www.ndedesigns.com/ (really needs a new layout...didn't even finish that one and I hate it...it's been like that for ages now).

oohh yeah forgot to mention, i have been getting into making wordpress also and SMF and PHPBB

I am and have been learning and studying alot about them and getting pretty good with them so far, coding / and themes / designs.

You been reading alot on the wordpress forums or tutorials section on 'how to' also ??

Nope not really been reading on the wordpress forums, just on some other forums i'm a part of already.

I know the other sites are crap...I hate the look of most of them. Free divs I hired someone to design for me, then I coded it, which worked out better than I thought it would.
I'm no designer, I know that.

Should be making a new theme for the wordpress theme site soon enough, just getting a logo finished and then i'll base a theme around that. Then it's on to building up content and getting traffic.

I keep the film review site just because I like the domain name, might end up turning it into something decent one day.
My portfolio site just needs me to get motivated one day and create something semi-decent to put up there.

Oh also, suposedly there is also decent money in giving away free wordpress themes...selling links in the footer of a theme for about $25-40 each (people usually sell around 3 or 4), then promoting it in countless forums/theme sites and providing a report to those who bought links.

I'll see if it's really that good once I get this site established. Not really doing it for the money, but it'd still be a nice addition.

Really? I don't really like it. It's the shitty wee logo I made that I really hate. Anyway, i'm redesigning that site, it'll get done sometime soon I think, i'm going to try get it done before I go back to uni in a few weeks.

I still like freedivs the best, even if I didn't design it. It's the greatest site i've made so far.

cool , cool. Yeah i am also at alot of different sites and forums doin the same and readin up and learnin their process's and structures and etc etc... and yeah and if not with the film one you can at least sell it or auction it off and make some $$$$

and yeah, plus i new that about the other part already. (well some of it we talked a little about before but) and not the part about you not being a good designer either.. lol :p The other parts.

Yup, Yup. Plus sell the High Q themes. Dont give those ones away. Only the lower end ones

I know it says i'm around here often...it's one of the sites that opens straight away in my browser, so it looks like i'm on the forum every time i'm online. But aye, I do need to start posting here more often.

Aye...i've never been good at designing things. I can code very well, I learn languages really easily, it just comes naturally I guess. Thats partly why i'm doing this, so I learn how to use PS to design better things.
A lot of people assume I do because of the whole myspace free divs thing, truth is i've not actually designed a layout for there, people just gave me images and I coded them. Well, apart from maybe one or 2 group layouts I think I made.

and also, how good would you say you was with PHP with javascript  mixed in ??

I got a little something im stumped on and gave it a brain break for a few but its a little secret project so dont want to post to much about it yet as only like 2 people know about them, i have about 6-10 going on. But.....

how good would you say u might be or think you are ??

Might see what you think or can come up with to help me get something to work right and the way i want it.

Aye, it's cool about the layouts, take your time, theres no rush. Although I really should update that site sometime soon, traffics went down a bit, think my SERPS have went down cause i've not updated it in ages.

OK, will do. I will try to sometime tonight or first thing tomorrow OK. Im kinda tied up and pretty busy today, not sure how fast i get what i have to done but when i have time right after i will PM you with the info and issue to see if maybe you can come up with some idea's
